Fire Risk Audit Preparation

Fire Risk Audit Preparation

A Fire Risk Audit is a statutory fire safety inspection of most premises other than private dwellings. In Northern Ireland, these are carried out by the NI Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) and can happen at any time.

The sort of things an NIFRS inspector will want to see include your Fire Risk Assessment; fire safety policy, fire action procedures, fire precautions log book; records of staff training and fire drills; records of testing and maintenance of firefighting equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers); and records of testing and maintenance of all fire safety systems (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting, sprinkler system, smoke ventilation system). They will need to see your fire safety to see how

They may even wish to talk with your employees or tenants to see if they know what to do in the event of a fire.
